The Good Samaritan
How do you know when you meet someone that God entrusts you to take care of? Is there someone who really needs your help? Even in our enlightened times – where people have soup kitchens and benefits? God should really know when and how we can benefit these people. A man on a road, who is injured should take our attention. But nowadays the ambulance and the NHS should do this for us. Jesus would probably approve of our charity and our philanthropy. Does this apply to an injured pigeon? How far should our charity go?
But without signposts and with a book thousands of years old, how do we make our religion become felt? The Holy Spirit which is supposed to infuse our souls should provide us with such signposts. But with all the confusion, with confused.com infused within our psyches, there is such a plethora of information, and church only provides us with direction once a week. How do we decide in which direction should we place our prayers, our charity?
Of course reading the bible (whatever edition may it be) we should hope we are guided. There are kites in the sky though with greater direction than we have spiritually. Either we give to all, or to a tiny amount. Modern day society would surely guide us, for there are many books about that would seek to give us wisdom. Do our political leaders help? Possibly not. Is there someone out there with perfect altruism? Bless God though and in some way we pray there is some guidance given to us here on Earth that will make us make a difference. At least I hope so.
