An Understanding of Good and Evil
It is just as well we have free will, otherwise we would all be robots and Arnie would come from a different dimension to kill us. We can do as we please – and yet we have developed a society with laws and in most places peace. If we haven’t been guided by a higher power, I say: Good on us. But what if God is the reason?
We have been allowed to sin and yet we choose not to. Where did injustice, evil and suffering come from? The devil? If so perhaps he is there for a purpose.
Have we been given the wisdom to see the difference between good and evil? If there was no pain there would be no compassion. If there was no weakness there would be no strength.
The very concept of free will means that there has to be good as well as bad. For if there was no good there would be no evil. If a man is blind, that means another can see, for otherwise there would be no concept of blind, it would just be normal.
If there were no such things as morals, would we still have free will? Or does reality mean that evil must exist?
The world could have turned absolutely terrible – if most or all were evil, but it has turned out remarkably well.
Is this prevention against evil God in action? If heaven is perfect – there must be no sin or evil there. What would this be like? Are we born on earth to experience life with sin before we go to heaven in order to appreciate its glory? I think that would explain things quite nicely.
