The Stream of Music
When I was younger I had a tape that fit into a Walkman. This carried music on it. But one without any vocals or singing of any kind. I didn’t really listen to it – I didn’t really like clarinet music, even when I was playing one. But I convinced myself I only liked instrumental music. Now I have found bands through the majesty and serendipity of YouTube. The music there – Toundra, Riverside, Haken and Kokomo for example – is top notch. I cannot put it in my Walkman, because I no longer have it and because people don’t exactly release music on cassette anymore. However YouTube is more than accessible. And from one new band you can find another. Surfing has never been so easy. You barely even have to click. If only all things in life were that easy.
