The Middle Ages

There are a number of ages that you can go through, normally described by numbers. However, the ancient Greeks said there were only seven ages of man, which maybe is why they died earlier. Certainly, in the middle ages themselves they had rather a worse time and rather earlier deaths. The seven ages of man were measured by different colours of metals. The ones that Greek poets talk of place us in the lowest age, the Iron Age. I thought this was just when we invented better weapons, but to the Greeks it meant we have been shunned by God and have to live in toil and misery. Recently I, myself, have been concerned with my health and my sister mentioned that I was sighing quite a lot. Is this a result of too many mince pies or is there another reason for my hyperventilation? My cousin also mentioned to me that she was becoming middle-aged and listening to Poirot on the radio on her way to work. Now she is actually younger than me, which therefore suggests I too am becoming middle-aged. Therefore, I expect from recent occurrences that I am getting to the stage where my body is falling apart and this is simply the reason for my injuries and heavy breathing. We as a species in most parts of the world have passed the dark ages, the middle ages and the medieval ages, and now find ourselves I think, inside the modern age. This is good, because if I was living in the dark ages, I would be dead by now. How long will my middle age be though I wonder, for I am sceptical that we will ever invent a machine that makes us younger. And how many symptoms can I accrue before something serious happens? I doubt the ancient Greeks knew or those living in the middle ages. But in the future, there may be more than seven ages of man. Maybe an eighth would be a start.
