Corfu - Hotel
The hotel also boasted a private beach but this was about two feet wide and twenty feet long and composed of sand unlike the colour of normal sand, so we never went there apart from to drink and to eat at the nearby bar/restaurants. At night time to provide entertainment, so people would stay at the hotel and eat and drink their free food, they would provide cabarets and bingo in at least 3 separate languages. There were also salsa lessons, and pictures by the beach where people were told to pose facing away from the camera, which we later worked out was because there was a lovely sunset there and lighting on one particular rock provided for by a professional photographer. Later on though, after the noise of the cabarets, there were bars open which served all kinds of drinks – though only one type of beer and tea which was frowned upon, because you were supposed to drink alcohol after a certain hour. Crepes were also made fresh until 1:45 am far past any alcoholic beverages which I suppose were there to sober people up.
